Skip Counting by 15 - Explanation and Examples

What is skip counting?

Skip counting is a method of counting by a fixed number other than 1. Instead of counting by ones, skip counting involves counting by a specific interval.

The specific interval can be another number for example 2, 3, 5, 10 etc.

Skip Counting by 15

Skip counting by 15 involves counting numbers in increments of 15, that means when skip counting by 15, 15 is added to a number to get the next number.

Example of skip counting by 15 starting from 100

When skip counting by 15, 15 is added to a number to get the next number.

100 + 15 = 115,

115 + 15 = 130,

130 + 15 = 145… and so on

100, 115, 130, 145, 160, 175… and so on.

Skip Counting by 15 starting from 20 will count as 20, 35, 50, 65, 80… and so on.

Skip Counting by 15 - Practice Examples

What comes after 250 in the figure below?

250 + 15 = 265

What comes next in the pattern below?

135,  150,  165,  180,  ?

In the number pattern above, adding 15 to a number gives the next number. The number after 180 will be 15 more than 180.

180 + 15 = 195

135,  150,  165,  180,  195
